OMG brilliant idea!! but sad you didn’t get the Popsicle sticks :( „,what else apart from chocolate will you be using?! i don’t know if i want to dip ‘em on anything else.

I made a test-batch just now with only chocolate, but I also bought a small packet of chopped nuts that I’ll use on Sunday. (Extra chocolate and nuts— I call it a “Gob”!)

“When Rainn’s on the exercise ball bouncing up and down, and I come over and I stab it with the scissors. In every other take we did, I stabbed it and it just slowly goes down. And the camera angle was that he just slowly ducked behind the thing and it was incredible. On the last take they were like “do one more.” And I remember going over and I went “boom”! I like how in old animation, you knew what object the characters would interact with. Because they were significantly less detailed than the stationary objects around them.

i’m so glad i’m not the only one who noticed..

that was always the first thing I noticed when watching cartoons

I love that quality.

Saddest Moment- Dumbledore’s death…actually, most of the deaths in this series. And of course, Snape’s backstory

I send my friends texts with movie quotes and I just sent that Yoda quote a few days ago =P

For an April Fool’s Day prank, one of my friends changed all the names in her boyfriend’s phone to Star Wars characters, and had us all text him random Star Wars quotes from our character throughout the day.

I feel like you should keep that in mind for next April :-D

4. Dumbo

I’m pretty surprised by how much of this movie I actually remembered, considering I haven’t watched it since I was a little kid.

Wikipedia tells me that Dumbo was given a very small budget because Disney needed to make up for the financial loss from Fantasia.I think that actually works in its favor, since the story is a pretty simplistic one that really didn’t need to be more than an hour. The film also looks a lot less polished than the previous Disney films, but I think that also fits pretty well with the tone.

I think this is also the first movie in the quest so far that’s really done a great job of making interesting characters. Dumbo himself is just really adorable, and I love that they made him so endearing without actually making him talk. Mrs. Jumbo is great as well, definitely one of the best mother characters in Disney films. The scenes where Mrs. Jumbo gets locked up, and when Dumbo visits her are also the first really emotional moments in any Disney movie so far.

Something else I found kind of interesting— this plotline, the “X gets made fun of for being different, but then his difference is what helps him triumph” is practically the go-to plot for kids movies these days. There are really few that have as much charm as this one, though!

The only thing I really dislike about this one is the “Pink Elephants” scene. Is it too early in this quest to start handing out superlatives? Because this is definitely the front-runner for “Trippiest Sequence in a Disney Movie” so far! I felt like it was mostly thrown in to increase the running time!

Overall this gets an 8.5/10 from me. Easily my favorite of the ones I’ve watched so far.

I totally forgot how cute Dumbo (the character) is! :-D

ooh i hope it doesn’t change!! i’m loving your quest as well! just read your fantasia review and sort of interested in consciously re-visiting that :D

lol, I really don’t expect it to change— aside from being a really good movie, The Lion King also has the most childhood nostalgia for me, so it’s going to be tough to replace! I’m trying to be open-minded, though!

I’d be curious to hear what you think of Fantasia, if you get around to re-visiting it

I suppose there’s a possibility (a small one) that it could change after I’ve re-watched all 52 of them, but at the moment it’s The Lion King.
